Third generation Fightbuilder
Today's Flightbuilder has been optimized and we are now welding with the third generation machine.

The Stord International Flightbuilder

The Stord Flightbuilder is a mobile service unit for automatic rewelding of press screw flights - on site. More than 600 presses of all brands have been successfully refurbished since 1987.

All twin screw presses in operation are subject to wear and abrasion. After campaigns in the sugar industry, or when the plant is not in operation, it is time to bring the press back to an optimum performance condition.

A critical issue for the press is the clearance between the top of the flights and the cage, and this is also the area which is most exposed to wear and abrasion. Consequently, after a certain time the press-performance will be reduced and the flights should be rewelded to regain the optimal clearance in the press.

Today's Flightbuilder has been optimized and we are now welding with the third generation Stord Flightbuilder.

The van transporting the Stord International Flightbuilder is equipped with the entire outfit required to achieve the best possible result. Our operators bring the Flightbuilder to your plant and carry out the comission without any assistance of local staff.

The welding material used is hard face alloy weld, same as we use on our new presses. After rewelding the flights, an accurate clearance between the flights and the press cage, and a sharp cutting edge is achieved. The press is ready for more hours of operation with a performance close to original.
