The Stord International FlightBuilder

The FlightBuilder is a mobile service unit for automatic rewelding of press flights - on site.

A critical issue for the performance of the press is the clearance between the top of the flights and the cage. This is also the area which is most exposed to wear and abrasion. After a certain time, the performance will be reduced, and the flights should therefore be rewelded to regain their original diameter.

The FlightBuilder is mounted on the side bar and, if necessary, the top of the flights are ground in order to obtain a smooth surface before refurbishing.

When the FlightBuilder has been reassembled and the upper cage and the drive reinstalled, the press is ready for more hours of operation with a performance close to original.
